Earlier this week, San Antonio-based Mission Solar Energy LLC and Houston-based installer TriSMART Solar LLC announced a strategic partnership where Mission will supply solar panels and TriSMART will offer and install them on residential projects across Texas.
Opened in September 2014, Mission's plant at Brooks in south San Antonio makes solar panels for residential and commercial projects. Over the past year, the company has increased the adoption of its panels through a series of distribution deals and a rooftop solar rebate bonus offered by San Antonio's city-owned utility company CPS Energy.
In a statement, Mission Solar Energy Commercial Operations Director Sam Martens said the deal will streamline the process for consumers looking for locally-made products for sustainable and energy-efficient homebuilding and remodeling projects.
“Together we will be able to help more families save money and go green while giving Texas a boost in becoming a top manufacturing and energy state," Mission Solar Energy Commercial Operations Director Sam Martens said in a statement.
TriSMART installs rooftop photovoltaic solar systems across Texas. Its San Antonio office is off Interstate 35 and O'Connor Road and is listed among CPS Energy's registered rooftop solar contractors.
"As a Texas based company, it has always been our goal to be the best solar provider in the state," TriSMART Co-owner Jon Morris said in a statement. "What better way to get there, then with a PV manufacturer that is also Texas based? We are big fans of supporting both the U.S. economy as well as that of Texas and we feel this is a huge step to support both."
